AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Annamaria Bazzi

Today, on Author's Circle, we have Annamaria Bazzi, chatting about her new romantic science fiction/ fantasy, WHITE SWANS.

About the book:
Kendíka’s second chance at life begins as a nightmare.
Will the eerie eyes always looking down from the sky reveal themselves?
Kendíka challenges the aliens no one has ever seen to bring about a better life for the humans trapped in the surreal Regency world she wakes up in.
While getting to know her alien owner, she discovers the aliens aren’t so perfect and have much to learn about humans.

Will Kendíka survive or perish, attempting to make life better for the people living on Regency?

Interview with Annamaria Bazzi:

1) Describe your book like a message in a bottle:

Fishbowl world. Aliens. A Regency World, oh my! How did I get here and how do I get out? And don’t tell me I’m the pet of an alien.

2) What’s your current guilty pleasure?

My current guilty pleasure is the same as yesterday’s and the same as tomorrow’s: CHOCOLATE.

3) If you wouldn’t be a writer, what you would be?

A painter. Painting on canvas is so relaxing and creating imaginary landscapes such a pleasure.

4) Did you always had in mind to be a writer or it just happened?

I’ve enjoyed writing stories forever. I remember writing fantasy flash fiction as homework when in Italy and I completed my first full-length novel at sixteen. When real life interfered with my dreams, I told myself it was only temporary.

5) Aside from writing, what do you enjoy doing on your spare time?

I have a few things I enjoy, starting with reading, painting, knitting and crocheting. I also love to go for long walks when the weather is warm.

6) What’s your favorite part of writing a book?

My favorite part is taking things that don’t make sense to me in real life like greed or the mistreatment of women in some of the third world countries, put them in a fictional world and solve them the way they make sense to me.

7) Who is your favorite character in your new release?

Kendíka is my favorite character in the White Swans series… I like her so much I gave her a website to run, a Facebook page and she’s also gone to virtual book fairs for me. Yes, I do enjoy this character. Charles and Saphora come a close second.

8) Did you do any research before start or during of the writing of the books?

As soon as I began writing the book and Kendíka ends up in a world mimicking the Regency Period, I had to do quite a bit of research to get acquainted with the era. The fun part was learning about the clothing they wore.

9) Which genres do you prefer to read?

Although I enjoy reading the classics, such as Wuthering Heights and The Three Musketeers, for the past several years I’ve been enjoying science fiction. To be honest it was Frank Herbert with his Dune series who got me hook on the genre. As of late I’ve enjoyed books such as The Hunger Games trilogy and The 5th Wave. On my to read list are The Host, Divergent and The Maze Runner.

10) If I give you a time machine, what time period and in what place would you travel to?

Oh to have a time machine, what a dream come true! The future is where I’d want to go to answers some of my basic questions. 1. Will we be colonizing Mars? 2. Are there other intelligent life forms living in the Universe? 3. Do we find another planet like Earth that could sustain us if we need to leave our planet? 4. What other discoveries do we make about our Universe? Yes, I’m fascinated by theoretical physics and I love Stephen Hawking.

11) How many more books can we expect in this series?

The White Swans series will at minimum have three books. I’m currently working on the second book and thinking about the direction of the third.

Thanks for doing the interview, Annamaria. Last, but not least, where can readers find your books?
